I prepare paint the way show judges inspect it: measured, corrected where appropriate and protected with nothing hidden. Whether it is a new Porsche getting film or a classic headed for the lawn, the approach starts with the car.

That discipline makes preparation more thoughtful for every car: understand its paint, preserve what matters and choose only the work it needs. Brandon brings that approach to his show preparation.
Southern California offers different kinds of show stages, including La Jolla Concours d'Elegance, San Marino Motor Classic and Goodguys Del Mar Nationals. A judged concours and a craftsmanship-focused show do not ask the same things of a finish.
Often searched as “concourse detailing”, concours preparation starts with the judging rules, not a universal gloss target.

A clear plan, from the start
Your paint, its condition and your goals set the starting point.
A defined scope, a personal quote and an agreed timeline.
Careful preparation, with progress updates and photos.
Review the finish together and leave with a plan to care for it.
Before we begin
Coating helps with gloss and maintenance. PPF provides a physical barrier against rock chips and road wear. They can be combined, with film on exposed areas and a compatible coating where appropriate.
A driven classic may suit a coating or film. On a restored show car, I check the event and marque-club rules first. Preservation-class originals receive conservation cleaning instead of coatings. Original single-stage lacquer and chrome require particular restraint; over-polishing or over-chroming can cost judging points.
